A Life-Changing Week That Builds Confidence, Character, and Leadership
Focused on structure, teamwork, discipline, and self-esteem, the program provides cadets with a highly active and challenging environment that promotes leadership, personal growth, and lifelong connections.
Camp Cadet introduces participants to the criminal justice system, public service careers, and the importance of honesty, integrity, trustworthiness, fairness, and personal achievement.
Through mentorship, physical activity, and team-based experiences, cadets leave with greater confidence, stronger character, and a renewed sense of purpose long after camp ends.

Youth ages 12-15 from Union, Montour, Snyder, and Northumberland Counties who are interested in law enforcement, public service, leadership, and teamwork are encouraged to apply for Camp Cadet.
Applicants participate in an interview process before being selected for a week of physical activity, team-building challenges, mentorship, and hands-on experiences alongside the Pennsylvania State Police, local law enforcement, National Guard, EMS personnel, fire companies, and other community partners.
Camp Cadet gives young people the opportunity to build lasting friendships, take on new challenges, grow as leaders, and discover what they are capable of achieving through teamwork, mentorship, and shared experiences.

How does my child apply to attend Camp Cadet?
Applicants must reside in Union, Montour, Snyder, and Northumberland Counties. Completed applications and essays may be sent to SVLECC at 50 Lawton Lane, Milton, PA 17847. Families may also contact Sara Barrett at PA State Police Milton.
How are cadets selected to attend camp?
Cadets are selected by the Board of Directors. Each applicant must attend an interview as part of the selection process.
How much is the cost of Camp Cadet?
Camp Cadet is free to attend. The camp is funded through fundraisers, corporate sponsors, and community donations.
Can I contact my child during the week?
Camp Cadet is a residential camp with no visitation or phone calls during the week. In an emergency, families can contact PSP Milton or Selinsgrove, and they can reach camp staff.
Who monitors my child during the week?
Cadets are divided into platoons supervised by adults, primarily PSP Troopers or other local law enforcement personnel.
